CCC welcomes new members to their 21th season
Dr. Hampton and the choir will began the second semester of the 2023-2024 season on January 6th, 2024. for new members and January 20 for returning members. New members are welcome to join all year long. If you're interested in joining just complete the Join Us form below.
CCC & the Illinois Philharmonic continue their collaboration
The Chicago Community Chorus appeared with the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra in two appearances in 2022, a concert version of Porgy and Bess and Handel's Messiah. So successful was the 2022 collaboration that they teamed up for 2023 Holiday Show which was presented December 9, 2023 at Trinity College in Palos Heights, IL. By all audience reports, the concert was a raving success and a spring joint appearance is planned.
CCC's spring concert is a huge hit!
CCC wowed the audience at its April 20 spring concert.. The presentation featured Robert Ray's Gospel Mass, a fan favorite, and excerpts from Seven Joys by Caroline Shaw and Beethoven's 9th Symphony. Next up, the CCC IPO ensemble will perform with the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra on May 18. More information is available on the Events page.
CCC completes first national tour
On July 14, 2023 the choir boarded a bus on their way to Minneapolis. MN where they sang at Plymouth Congregational church and performed in concert at Westwood Lutheran Church. While there Dr. Hampton presented a workshop where CCC was joined by several local choirs. The choir visited the George Floyd memorial where they performed a moving rendition of their signature song, Oh Lord Please Hear My Prayer.
