KEITH HAMPTON
ARTISTIC DIRECTOR/FOUNDER

Dr. Keith Hampton (affectionately known as "Doc") is a conductor, composer, educator, church musician, organ performer, adjudicator, and workshop clinician. In addition to serving as the Artistic Director/Founder of the Chicago Community Chorus (CCC), he is the Director of Music at Hillcrest Baptist Church and president of Dr. KT Productions, Inc., Chicago, Illinois.
Classically trained as an organist and as a conductor, Dr. Hampton has taught students from nursery through college levels, served as Director of Music at churches of various denominations and is often sought after as a guest conductor and workshop clinician throughout the US, Germany, Trinidad, and Africa. In October of 2010, the North Central American Choral Directors Association selected Dr. Hampton as one of the top 25 Contemporary Composers "whose composition, Praise His Holy Name, should be standard repertoire for choirs today and for the next 25 years."
Keith Hampton has guest-conducted the Virginia All State Honors' Choir, the Georgia All State Collegiate Chorus, Rhode Island All-State Chorus, ACDA's Eastern Division High School Honor's Choir, Baltimore All-County High School Chorus, and the Pennsylvania Region I & VI High School Choirs.
Dr. Hampton earned a Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Westminster Choir College, Princeton, New Jersey; a Master of Arts Degree from Marywood University, Scranton, Pennsylvania; and a Doctor of Music Degree in Church Music from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois. He was twice chosen as one of 14 conductors to participate in the Oregon Bach Festival Conducting Master classes. The festival is held at the University of Oregon under the direction of Helmuth Rilling and Thomas Somerville. He also was chosen to conduct in an a cappella music workshop sponsored by Chorus America.
At Dr. KT Productions, Inc., he provides music transcriptions of Black Gospel Music with the use of Finale by MakeMusic, he has produced the CD, Celebrate (2009), and has published the book, Praise His Holy Name … And Other Songs in the Gospel Style (2011). As a published composer, Dr. Hampton’s arrangements of Spirituals and Gospel Songs can be found at Augsburg Fortress Press, Choristers Guild, earthsongs Publications, Hal Leonard Corporation and Hinshaw Music.
TIMOTHY MAYNIE
ASSOCIATE CONDUCTOR
Timothy Maynie is a founding member of the Chicago Community Chorus. He has been teaching in the Chicago Public Schools for the last 15 years. During this time, he has instructed K-8 students in General Music, Beginning Chorus, Concert Chorus, Math, and Reading. Under his direction, the Concert Chorus consistently earned Excellent and Superior ratings at music festivals.
Mr. Maynie earned a Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Performance and Music Education from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, a Masters of Education Degree in Middle Level Education, and a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Administration and Supervision from National-Louis University, Chicago, IL. He also, currently works as an adjunct Professor at National-Louis University teaching classes in Middle School Philosophy and Curriculum.
Mr. Maynie has been a church musician for many years. As a youth, he served as junior organist at the South Shore United Methodist Church. After college, he served as the accompanist and Director of Music at Ingleside-Whitfield UMC, respectively. He has served as the Choir Director at Park Manor Christian Church. Currently, Mr. Maynie is a member of Victory Apostolic church where he is on the music ministry staff as well as a member of the sanctuary choir. Mr. Maynie has performed at many venues throughout the city of Chicago. He loves performing with and help his friends as they minister through music. Mr. Maynie is also a lifelong member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Music Fraternity. BRANDON BROWN, M.M.
ASSOCIATE CONDUCTOR
Brandon "Melodious Tones" Brown has a passion for music that shows throughout his performances. Brandon participates in many musical venues around the city. He is Assistant Conductor and a soloist for the Chicago Community Chorus, under the direction of Keith Hampton, a member of the Keith Hampton Singers, a member of the Grant ParkApprentice Chorale and Chorus, an ensemble artist of the South Shore Opera Company, and the Minister of Music at theChurch of the Good Shepherd. Brandon has performed with the Greater Chicago Opera Guild, and at the National Association of Negro Musician's Convention. He has performed in opera scenes as Antonio, Figaro, and the Count in Le Nozze di Figaro, Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus, Marquis de la Force in Dialogues of the Carmelites, Morales in Carmen, and portrayed the role of Hucklebee in The Fantasticks. Brandon has performed in several opera choruses including Aida, Djamileh, Candide, and L'enfant et les Sortilèges. Some of his solo oratorio works include Dubois’Seven Last Words, Handel’s Messiah, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Linda Twine’s Changed My Name, and Duruflé’s Requiem. He has worked with David Holloway, Scott Gilmore, Dana Brown, and Giulio Favario. Brandon is a member ofPhi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He received his Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Eastern Illinois University and hisMaster of Music in Voice from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University.
CICELY JACKSON
ASSISTANT CONDUCTOR
Cicely A. Jackson, Lyric Soprano, is currently the General Music Teacher/Chorus Director at Ellen H. Richards Career Academy in Chicago, IL. She also serves as the Co-Director for the Cathedral Choir of Martin Temple A.M.E. Zion Church, also in Chicago.
Prior to her arrival in Chicago three years ago, Ms. Jackson lived in the Washington, DC area. She was awarded an internship at the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts and remained as an employee for 3 years. Her teaching career began in the public school system of Montgomery County, MD and continued for one year in Green Cove Springs, FL. She was very active with her church, Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ, serving as a choir member and officer and a Girl Scout leader.
Her additional activities and achievements included being a featured soloist at various churches in the Metropolitan Area and performed in numerous recitals. Cicely also performed with the Washington, DC Chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity for Women and the Thursday Network Young Adult Auxiliary of the National Urban League; in additional to performing with the Bel Cantanti Opera of Washington.
Ms. Jackson is originally from Jacksonville, FL and holds a BA in Music Education from Bethune-Cookman College in Florida and a BM in Music Business from Radford University in Virginia.
